Hello from beautiful Saarbruecken where we have been eating hard-boiled eggs and swimming in a swimming pool best described as “Lynchian.” Our album release tour has been wonderful so far with attractive, dancing audiences and delicious local brews. The German press has said nice things about our album, the sun has been shining and we are staying hydrated.
However, it occurs to us that we have neglected to share with you (dear website readers) a few of the videos that we have made (often in conjunction with very talented film-y people) for songs from the new record, “People”.
First, here is a video that Mathias made himself featuring several similarly bearded men and a Canadian Coast Guard ice breaker that helped us get to Fogo Island back in March.
Now feast your eyes on the incredible work of St. John’s dynamos HeavyWeather who shot a hip-hop video for us in the syle of 1997 for the song Amateur Rappers. Big thanks to all our home-town home-slices who came out and danced and acted for this one. Check it out here:
And finally, our awesome friend Patrick Canning made one of the trippiest videos we’ve ever seen for the song “Sentimentalists”. We can’t even begin to imagine how long it took to edit Jake and Darren into ribbons whirling around Signal Hill.
That’s all for now. If you’d like you can join our new mailing list and we’ll send out an email when we finish the other videos. We’re pretty excited about some of the plans for the other songs on the record!
